2017 Cadillac XT5

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 is a completely-reworked luxury crossover
that will go “tire-to-tire“ with the upcoming 2016
Lexus RX 350 when it goes on sale.

2017 Cadillac XT5 Exterior

The looks of the new Cadillac XT5 finally shown to the
public after many spy photos, the new 2017 XT5 suddenly
appeared on the streets of Manhattan. Cadillac is officially
remained silent about it. Nevertheless, according to some
rumors the XT5 has changed platform from the Epsilon II that
the SRX rides on to a new Chi platform that will be available
in regular (C1UL) and long-wheelbase (C1UL) versions.

It seems that the XT5 is roughly the same size as the SRX, and
it is expected it to adopt some cues from the CTS and upcoming
CT6. The vertical LED lights and hard angles will certainly all
be a part of the new SUV’s design.

2017 Cadillac XT5 Interior

The interior of the 2017 Cadillac XT5 is an even greater
mystery than the exterior design. Since this model will not be
arriving to the dealerships until 2017, a myriad of
next-generation gadgets are expected to be seen. There is even
a chance of getting to see an early example of Cadillac’s Super
Cruise, semi-autonomous driving system.

As it has always been the case with Cadillac, the XT5 is to
feature premium animal hide, all the latest bells and whistles,
and loads of options.

Engine Specs and performance

The new 2017 Cadillac XT5 is likely to be powered by an updated
version of the 2015 SRX’s 3.6-liter V-6 engine. GM is said to
also be working on a turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 that would fit
nicely in the new SUV. Since the hybrids are becoming more
frequent among luxury automakers, there is a chance of Cadillac
offering a plug-in hybrid model.

When it comes to the drivetrain format, the XT5 will probably
retain the SRX’s front- or all-wheel-drive.

If this lineup was to come true, the XT5 would be able to
compete with tough ones, like the BMW
X5 and the Audi Q5. But in order to be truly competitive,
the XT5 will definitely need a diesel engine.

Price and release date

It is still early and hard to tell the price of the 2017
Cadillac XT5, but for the purpose of rough orientation and an
educated guess, the 2015 SRX’s pricing starts at $37,605. Based
on this, it is “guesstimated” that the XT5 pricing will start
at $40,000, whereas the extended-wheelbase model will start at
